Love them or detest them, the less chaps with the little hats are certain to be spotted in gardens around the place for years. Something of a domestic fixation, Gnomes are much more than just being a garden decoration.
Originally the first place to mass manufacture gnomes was Germany in the 1800s. Local folk said that gnomes 'helped in the garden at night' when the gardeners were tucked in their beds. The fad for the people shortly followed into France and across the Channel to England – the country of garden lovers.
Gnomes are obviously genuine creatures that live in their own reality. Think what you will, but begin delving into the magic reality of the Gnomes and it becomes quite neurotic. Many think that gnomes have been ousted by the growth of the contemporary reality. Gnomes obviously survive a comfy, secure and glad living with no demand for computers, mobile phones or TVs.
